The Liberation Library Book Club is Back!

Rania writes, because well, Rania READS! I am so happy to find the time and energy to bring back my book club. The Liberation Library is a freedom affirming space for collective learning, strategizing and growing.

How it works:

  • Book club is free/pay what you can, but you must register.
  • Donationswww.raniawrites.com/donate support  folks with accessing the books, and help to cover costs for note takers, ASL , captioning and/or other access needs. You can make a donation to Book Club here.
  • Please note, we read books that are mostly written by Black & Indigenous folks, as such we want to make sure that we buy the books ( soft or hard copies) or borrow them from libraries (and each other) rather than circulate PDF copies.
  • The Liberation Library runs from April 1st 2021, to March 30th, 2022 (inshallah!)
  • You have two options for pace - the slow land, where we read 6 books over 12 months and meet once a month, or the fast lane, where we read one book every month, meeting twice in that period.
  • We meet twice a month, in a facilitated conversation and open discussion, guiding questions, reflections and prompts accompany each book.
  • You can skip months and switch leans when you need to, just let us know.
  • Book Club registration is a must, so we can understand your access needs, including getting a soft/hard/audio copy of the text.
  • RSVP to each book/meeting in advance, please make sure to fill out the general book club registration before you sign up for these sessions.
  • Meetings are currently taking place on zoom.
  • We will occasionally have guest facilitators, participants are also welcome to lead discussions.

Welcome back to the liberation library, we can’t wait to read and grow with you!
